Today’s Shopping Adventure

This weekend is a great time to purchase multiple newspapers!  There are some fantastic coupons in the four inserts included in the Dallas Morning News and Denton Record Chronicle:  Smart Source, Red Plum, Procter & Gamble, and PepsiCo Moments to Save.  The Red Plum, PepsiCo and Procter & Gamble inserts were the same between the two newspapers, so I splurged and purchased four copies of the Denton Record Chronicle (along with the two Dallas papers I already had).  At $1 each, this is a steal!

I went to three stores this morning (Walgreens, Walmart and Alberstons).  I spent a total of $66.38 and have $9 in Walgreens Register Rewards left to spend next week.  Some of the items I purchased were not an amazing deal, but we needed them.  In particular, the Fancy Feast Elegant Medleys cat food is expensive ($0.76 per can!) and we are completely out.  I typically purchase cat food through Amazon’s Subscribe and Save program and am able to get it for around $0.60-0.65 per can, but because of poor planning on my part, we won’t have our next shipment until Thursday.  My cats will not leave me alone if they don’t have their Fancy Feast.  I was able to use a coupon to get it down to $0.70 per can.

Walgreens (spent $17.85 total with $9 in RR left):

  • 5 Boxes Belvita Breakfast Biscuits
  • 3 18-pack Boxes Kotex U Tampons
  • 6 Cans Starbucks Refreshers (I have no idea if this is any good.  However, there was a free coupon in the PepsiCo insert.)
  • 2 Bags Haribo Gummy Bears
  • 2 12-packs Double Roll Quilted Northern
  • 4 Pepsi Next 2 Litter Bottles
  • 2 Bags Palmers Easter Peanut Butter Cups (used as fillers at Walgreens – clearanced to $0.25 each)

Albertsons (spent $9.76):

  • 1 80-pack Hefty Foam Plates
  • 1 Bottle Garland BBQ Sauce
  • 3 Cans Allens Vegetables
  • 2 Albertsons Chili Mix Pouches
  • 4 Albertsons Sloppy Joe Seasoning Pouches
  • 1 Albertsons Salt
  • 1 8-pack Albertsons Hot Dog Buns
  • 1 8-pack Albertsons Hamburger Buns
  • 1 Can Pillsbury Easy Frosting
  • 2 Pints Blue Bell Ice Cream (not shown – in the freezer)
  • 6 Hershey’s Milk Chocolate Bars
  • 1 Bunch of Bananas

Walmart (spent $38.77):

  • 2 Bags Cheetos Puffs
  • 2 Bags Lays Potato Chips
  • 1 12-pack Diet Twist Up (my favorite!)
  • 1 Smoked Ham Lunch Meat
  • 1 24-pack Frozen Pancakes
  • 1 4-pack Yogurt
  • 1 Coffee Creamer
  • 1 Box Fruit Snacks
  • 1 6-pack Mini Dr. Thunder (Camden’s favorite!)
  • 4 Denton Newspapers
  • 18 Cans Fancy Feast Elegant Medleys
